The Senate of Fountain University, Osogbo, at its meeting held on Tuesday this week, has approved the minimum admissible marks for candidates seeking admission into the University for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The decision was conveyed by the Registrar and Secretary to the Senate, Mr. Sheriff Adenekan, following the conclusion of deliberations by the Senate.

According to the approved admission guidelines, candidates seeking admission into various undergraduate programmes of the University are expected to meet the prescribed Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) scores and Direct Entry requirements as applicable to their programmes of choice. https://bit.ly/admission-mark-2026

For the College of Management and Social Sciences (COMAS), most programmes including Accounting, Business Administration, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Criminology and Security Studies, and Library and Information Science have a minimum UTME requirement of 150 marks, while Mass Communication requires 160 marks.

In the College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CONAS), programmes such as Biochemistry and Nutrition, Industrial and Environmental Chemistry, Microbiology, Physics with Electronics, and Food Science and Technology maintain a minimum benchmark of 150 marks.

For programmes under the College of Computing, Computer Science has a minimum admissible mark of 170, while Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Information and Communication Technology require 150 marks respectively.

For the College of Basic Medical and Health Sciences (COBMHES), admissible marks for Nursing Science was pegged at 220, Doctor of Physiotherapy at 200, and Medical Laboratory Science at 190. Public Health and Environmental Health Science maintain a minimum benchmark of 150 marks.

Similarly, programmes in the College of Arts and Education (COAED), including Arabic, English, French, Islamic Studies, History and International Studies, Linguistics, and various Education programmes, have a minimum admissible mark of 150.

For the College of Law (COLAW), Common Law requires a minimum score of 220, while Common and Islamic Law requires 200.

The Registrar further disclosed that prospective candidates are required to change to Fountain University as their first choice institution on the JAMB portal pending the opening of the University admission portal, which is expected to commence receiving applications immediately after the Salah break.

The University Management advised prospective candidates and parents to carefully review the approved requirements before proceeding with admission applications into the institution.
