The unveiling marks another milestone in the College's efforts to strengthen unity, identity, and sports development among its students. Notably, the jersey project was funded through the cash prize won by the College after emerging overall champions of the Jemilah Ayinla Cup Competition held during the first semester of the 2025/2026 academic session. The initiative was further supported by additional contributions from the College.
CONAS had emerged victorious in the keenly contested inter-collegiate sporting competition, finishing ahead of all other colleges in the University and securing the coveted title.
Speaking during the unveiling ceremony, the Dean of the College, Professor Hakeem Bolariwa, described the occasion as a significant moment in the history of the College.
"Today marks a significant moment as we unveil the official CONAS jersey, a symbol of unity, excellence, teamwork, and the vibrant spirit of our College of Natural and Applied Sciences. This jersey represents not only our identity but also our commitment to academic excellence, sportsmanship, and collective achievement," he said.
Professor Bolariwa commended the students and organizers whose dedication made the project possible and encouraged members of the College to wear the jersey with pride while upholding the values it represents.
"I encourage every member of CONAS to wear it with pride and uphold the values it represents. Congratulations to the entire CONAS family on this remarkable achievement," he added.
Also speaking at the event, the Chief Coach of Fountain University, Mr Ganiyu Adedokun, lauded the College for what he described as a visionary use of the prize money.
He expressed appreciation to the University Management, the Dean of CONAS, staff, students, and all stakeholders who contributed to the successful realization of the project.
"This jersey symbolizes unity, excellence, and the indomitable spirit of the CONAS family. I am grateful for the continued support given to our athletes and coaching team, whose dedication made this achievement possible," he stated.
Mr Adedokun further noted that the initiative would inspire greater success among students and strengthen their sense of belonging to the College and the University community.
The event was attended by members of staff of the College, student leaders, athletes, and other students who gathered to witness the official presentation of the jersey.
As members of the CONAS family proudly don their new colours, the jersey is expected to serve as a lasting symbol of the College's championship success, unity, and aspirations for even greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
